Holy One of Blessing,

So many are still suffering. Homes, families, whole towns torn to pieces.

Shield them from the next storm’s wrath. Hold them in Your wings of protection.

I will not pray for the impossible, for the storm to disappear.

I pray for neighbors to help neighbors. For helping hands and hearts to not turn away from the destruction, but to run forward with supplies, light, and love.

I pray for the people without homes. And for the people whose homes are in peril.

I pray for the old and the lonely,

The young and the frightened.

I pray for all the precious lives in the storm’s path.

May it be Your will to protect those who need protection, Strengthen those who need strength, and Encourage those who will venture out into the wild winds and rain in ambulances and fire trucks and police cars. Keep them safe as they struggle to keep us safe.
