Caregiver of the Year Dinner, caregivers, caregivers organization, funny prayer, God, growing old, prayer
I’m not really sure if laughter is indeed the best medicine; I happen to be quite fond of Motrin. And as I’ve mentioned, the occasional shot of vodka is pretty good too.
However, the video below was called “A Reminder that Laughter is the Best Medicine” by the caregivers organization that posted it on their website. YouTube’s name for it is much more descriptive; they call it “Funny Prayer about Getting Old at the Caregiver of the Year Dinner.”
Whatever you want to call it, it’s an example of a beautiful prayer laced with wonderful humor. I think sometimes we take our prayer too seriously; certainly most of the conversations with God that I’ve overheard tend to be more heavy than lighthearted. This lady managed to deliver a really powerful prayer at the same time as being wickedly funny. Thanks for forwarding it Betsy!

Bubble isn’t burst… it’s still terrific and a beautiful combination of prayer and humor.
