I love the teenagers/college students in my life. They’re so funny and profound.
An example of profundity; today Stephanie Hurwitz posted on FB, “One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.”
I am saddened to report that the video of my life will include far too many hours spent in airports, and frankly, it’s bad enough having to live through them once. Am hoping for the option of a fast-forward button (as well as a “linger as long as I like on the good stuff” button).
One last observation before I sign off and quietly (and a bit desperately) hope that this time my flight won’t be cancelled. There’s something surreal about New Yorkers and their affinity for black clothing. If I didn’t know better, I’d think everyone in JFK is on their way to a funeral.
Oops; a red sweater walked by just as I wrote that. Thank goodness for Christmas sweaters… and ladies from the midwest.
“One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.” – this caught my attention.
I dislike long hours of waiting inside the airport as well. Because of your blog, I found an answer to my question. “Why is that, every time New York is mentioned i see black?” and that’s it, New Yorkers just love wearing black.

We ladies of the Midwest salute you! You have not seen fashion if you haven’t seen Halloween or Christmas sweaters! In Chicago there are even St. Patricks Day sweaters.

Black is the color of choice because in Northern minds, it is always smart. At services at my congregation last week, the “official” colors for the evening were black and purple. Did you read the book I gave you in any of the airports? Love ya, Jennifer and your blogs!

When I moved to Florida, I only had black clothing. I’m not just New York, I was 1980’s East Village New York. My mother called it “the uniform”. I still wear a lot of black and some earth tones but every now and then Florida invites me to be glorious in yellow or purples or orange. 🙂

I remarked on the same thing about black last night, right here in Sarasota. Six of us went to a board meeting and black was the predominant color. I said I felt as if I was back in NY. One of the things I love most about Florida is seeing people dressed in bright colors all year round.
Hope the trip is uneventful.
